You, the player, follow the journey of game's villain on his quest to kill peaceful geometric bunnies. Your job is to minimize the damage it causes by building temporary walls to restrict its path. The only thing that can stop FSOD is the Giant Heroic Bunny at the end of level 4. There are three endings that depend on how well you save the world.

It runs in Windows XP. I had never thought of that before yesterday.

So, if the equal sign is functioning correctly, you should be able to become more knowledgeable as a result of otherwise obtaining power.

Like, I could take over the world and then I'd gradually become smart enough to know that taking over the world was a bad idea. Every day, Some massively numerized part of humanity dies. They die for many reasons, but one of the main ones is failure to pay attention to the lessons of Jpop PVs.

From exactly some number of weeks ago and onward, whenever I feel like it, which was "on most Mondays" in the beginning, but isn't today, I will help you interpret these lessons, so that you may continue to exist.

---------

Today's Lesson: Zwei - Fake Face

Finding deeper meaning in places where it should not normally be found (Jpop PVs) is my primary job here, but sometimes I feel like not writing very much. For those occasions, of which today is one, I will warn you of PVs that are there only as mindless entertainment and have no educational or artistic value at all.

Zwei's fairly recent video for the song, Fake Face, is an excellent example of this. It was created on the assumption that all a good PV needed was lots of pretty moving images that would make children happy and jump up and down with gruntledness. This assumption was false. People want to be challenged and moved by the music videos they watch. Other artists, like Takashi Fujii and Biyuuden know this.

Not Zwei though. I will now stop writing and give you a whole big thing-full of screen shots so you understand exactly the height, width, and depthosity of my correctness.

Now, please watch something else and have a Happy Nonspecific Winter Celebratory Time.

Things I did not think at all about in the last few days.

I have thought about the need to write something here, but not so much about what that something should be.

Now, I have a solution. Here are things that did not enter my mind at all in the time between last Saturday and right now:

Fishing - I admit to thinking of fish while eating it for dinner on Monday, but definitely not the act of catching that or any other fish.

The Moon - The moon is almost an interested place. It hasn't been this week though.

Montana - I do not know anyone who lives in Montana. I think I know someone who went to college there, but I haven't seen them in years and forgot that they existed, like Montana.

Cricket - I did not think of either the sport of cricket, nor the animal that makes noise sometimes. I suspect that this is because it is winter and I don't live in a country where cricket is played.

The French Revolution - Actually, I'm not sure of this one. I don't remember thinking about it, at least.

The fourth boss in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game - I can't even remember who the fourth boss was. I used to like this game though. I must have known at one time. I don't care now.

Your dog - Do you have a dog?

Pizza - At school, pizza is a common food, but since I have been on vacation, it has not been. Nor do I miss it much so far.

Polar bears - I thought of pandas once, but I think they're not really bears, so it isn't that close.

Wynn Everett - She is on the front page of the Internet Movie Database today, where it says that she is an actress who hasn't done much. I had never heard of her.

How things smell - I've had a cold for almost two weeks.

Marshmallows - Not much to say about marshmallows.

I think this covers everything. If I think of more that I was not thinking of, I'll add it.

My Favorite Spam of Today

From: sureshihickerso@b.kth.se
Subject: Re: flummox Shrovetide
Date: December 17, 2005 12:47:34 PM EST
To: xxxxxxx@lists.rpi.edu

http://www.anfoos.com

Lev
Xa
So
VA
Am
VlA
Me
Pro
ClA
itra
nax
ma
LlUM
bien
GRA
ridia
pecia
LlS
$9
$1
$7
$8
$6
$6
$9
$6
$9
9.95
23.45
5.95
5.45
8.00
9.95
9.95
4.95
9.95

been an actress, mused David. She had the surface attributes of that precarious profession-striking features, a commanding presence, the sine qua non that forced both men and women to fall silent and pensively appraise her when she walked down a street or entered a room. You can read to me tomorrow, Daddy! The story was over, attested to by his son jumping off the couch and Mrs. Cooper flashing her eyes open. I wanted to read that one tonight, said Webb defensively, moving away from the arch. Well, you still kind of smell, said the boy, frowning. Your father doesnt smell, Jamie, explained Marie, smiling. I told you, its the medicine the doctor said he had to use on his injuries from the accident. He still smells.

What is Love?

This is a question that humanity and, most notably, Ai Otsuka have sought to answer for many years.

She came up with musically excellent answers on two previous occasions, but both were later found to incorrect.
The first was too violent and the second was inappropriate for children and passing motorists. These could not be love.

Now, Otsuka, on her third try, has found the truth.

Love is a soup.

Furthermore, the new album, Love Cook, gives detailed instructions on how to make it.

I haven't tried it yet, since I don't much like soup, but you might, so I have translated and summarized the recipe to the best of my abilities. Those abilities are limited to reading the track titles, but that should be enough, I think.

------------
Love:

1. Look at the clock. If it is 5:09 AM, continue. If not, wait until tomorrow.

2. Look up "haneari" in your dictionary. Mine didn't have it. Put some eggs in a bowl.

3. Add marbles.

4. Smile. Or maybe arrange the marbles and eggs to look like a smile. I don't know.

5. Move your kitchen into a U-boat. This will likely take a long time and thousands of dollars, but love requires sacrifice. Perhaps you can find a U-boat on eBay.

5. Skin one cat. There is more than one way to do this, but be sure that the way you choose allows it to be turned into a balloon afterwards.
Now do that. Sew the cat skin back together very carefully so that it becomes completely air-tight. Then fill it with air and put it in your bowl with the eggs and marbles.

6. Be sure to cherish this horrible procedure. You'll laugh about it later.

7. Add ramen. I assume this goes on top the cat balloon.
Begin cooking. Probably a good idea to stir.

8. Go to Tokyo in your U-boat and arrive at exactly midnight.
Japan and Germany were allies during the second world war, but I doubt this will help you much now. Maybe if you stay very very deep under water, you won't be seen and arrested or shot. Pray that your U-boat is still underseaworthy and above all, remember that you are doing this for love, which some poets and philosophers have said is the most important thing EVER. Find as safe a place as you can and surface. Do it slowly. Your ears may hurt now.

10. Carry your hot bowl of love to the Gotoh Planetarium and Astronomical Museum. I can't give you directions, but if you wander around Tokyo for a while, you'll find it. Tokyo is the largest city in Japan, but it is much smaller than the Sun. Don't you feel better now?
Also, bring oven mitts.

11. In the planetarium, find someone whose birthday is today. Make sure they understand that you mean the day that has just started and not the day that ended when you arrived in your U-boat.
Now kill them and add them to the soup.

12. Let the soup cool for 30 minutes.
Serve. Those who eat your love should now hear music.
If they don't, go to step #1 and try again. If your second love also fails, find a better translator. I may have made a few minor errors in interpreting Otsuka's original message.

To buy the album, click here.

I wish I was more bored right now. Writing has given me something to do.

I have failed.

Sitting around trying to think of something to do and not getting any ideas requires great practice and discipline.

Meditation is hard too, but it doesn't count, since if you do it right, you're not bored.

Or are you bored, but unaware of your boredom?

If I cut my foot off without knowing it, my foot would still be gone.

Is this the same?

Probably not.

How would I cut my foot off an not know it?

Maybe while sleep walking into laser beams.

I don't sleep walk though.

Or walk.

Or live near laser beams.

Actually, I can think of at least one laser cautioning sign on a door in an academic building halfway across campus.

I wonder if it's the kind of laser that can cut off feet.

I guess I could check, but that would be kind of pointless.

Why should I care?

I don't sleep walk anyway.

I'm even getting worse at lucid dream training.

I can't remember to ask myself if I'm dreaming anymore.

Am I dreaming now?

I'll check if I can fly.

Gah!

Can't fly.

I'm awake.

And bored.

Not nearly bored enough though.

I wonder what kind of blog entry I'd make if I was unable to think of a blog entry.

Actually, I've done that.

A few times. It's in the archive.

It was more concise than this at least.

This will probably look even longer once it's published than it does in my editor window.

Less width of space for text and stuff.

It's pretty cold outside.

Revenge is best served cold.

Popsicles absolutely must be served cold.

On average then, popsicles are colder than revenge.

This is comforting.

I'm not funny.

Neither are any recent Jpop PVs I've seen.

I need something more wise also.

I almost wrote about how to be Bold & Delicious.

Why would anyone want to be delicious? People pay extra for fake worn jeans. Maybe socks could be the same.

And what about socks made of fake worn jeans? They might not be comfortable, but maybe the power of coolness would override that. Hmm...

There are also not enough things currently made from socks.

We have sock monkeys. I think I've seen sock elephants. Maybe I just dreamed about them. I've been trying to teach myself to recognize dreams while I'm dreaming. So far, whenever I ask "am I dreaming" and the answer is yes, I wake up. This is annoying.

Back to socks, we need more sock birds. Penguins would be too easy to make. Sock peackocks might work.

Socks could probably be adapted into hats somehow. Or not. Yeah, forget sock hats.

Feel free to steal these ideas and become rich and famous yourself.

I don't really care about socks that much normally...

The Wisdom of Jpop PVs: Part III

Watching lots of Japanese music videos is an excellent way to educate yourself in the ways of continued existence in life. Every day, Some massively numerized part of humanity dies. They die for many reasons, but one of the main ones is failure to pay attention to the lessons of Jpop PVs.

From exactly 3 week ago on, whenever I feel like it, which so far is "on most Mondays," I will help you interpret these lessons, so that you may continue to exist.

---------

Today's Lesson: Utada Hikaru's Guide to Government

The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli is one of those books I've always planned to read, but so far, haven't.

I'll get to it eventually. Based on what I've heard, The Prince is a book of instructions for rulers on how to gain rule, how to rule, and how to keep the rule they have.

Utada Hikaru has found a solution to this same problem so simple that it doesn't even need a book to explain it:

Decorative Head-Bags.

As you will see, the PV of Passion demonstrates the concept of effective leadership by decorative head bags with masterful concision.

When the video begins, we observe the journey of an animated fairy on her way to assassinate Queen Utada and take control of her land.

This land is not named, so I will refer to it as The Kingdom of Hallway.

As we can see, when Animated Fairy reaches her target, she changes her mind. We don't see her again.

All we know for certain is that her objective is not carried out.

Why not?

Animated Fairy sees that Kingdom of Hallway is populated by mysterious drummers with decorative head-bags.

They are skilled musicians, but what else are they? Demons? Ninjas? Other animated fairies?

Challenging an enemy so unknown is simply not worth the risk.

As further deterent to invaders, Queen Utada calmy paces her small kingdom wearing a dress of near infinite unmaneuverability. Any enemy who sees this logic-defying vestment will be forced to conclude that its owner is absolutely confident of her own safety.

Besides being decorative and threateningly deceptive, the head-bags serve a third and possibly most important purpose.

They make every citizen of The Kingdom of Hallway effectively blind.

Would you try to overthrow a leader you can't see? No. You wouldn't.

We are later introduced to another group of head-bag wearers who dance instead of play drums. Are they the Queen's elite demonic ninja fairy secret service? Are they just dancers? Who knows. They're scary.

So, in summary, Utada's position of power is 100% protected both by and from her subjects, all thanks to decorative head-bags.

The final scene depicts yet another invading army on horseback.

Utada walks right past them, giving no hint of worry, despite the fact that most of them are invisible.

She knows what will happen next.

I think it's a good time to post nothing again.

Boycott Nozomi Online

http://www.nozomionline.com

See that URL?

That is a site for which I am now a contributing writer. Awesome.

Anyway, you should not click that link. Never mind the fact that it isn't a link. Don't copy and paste it either.

The nefariously ill-smelling owner of the site forced me to change my name to something more name-sounding. I told him that this name was the most me-full, but he still demanded a new one. I settled on Reldn Ach, but only after he threatened to rape my cat. I couldn't let that happen.

So don't go there.

Do join the forum though. It's also disgusting and boring, but you can change that by posting there. Every day, Some massively numerized part of humanity dies. They die for many reasons, but one of the main ones is failure to pay attention to the lessons of Jpop PVs.

From about a week ago on, whenever I feel like it, I will help you interpret these lessons, so that you may continue to exist.

---------

Today's Lesson: The Wisdom of Yellow Shirt Guy

The PV I will be discussing today is Oh My Juliet! by Takashi Fujii. The central plot revolves around a man who wears glasses and sunglasses and is mysteriously a student at a high school, despite being much too old for that.

His seemingly unrealizable dream is to have two girlfriends, whom he believes are named "Juliet". Both Juliets already share a boyfriend, who is not him and looks like Frodo.

There is a happy ending in which our protagonist trips during lunch and uses the sudden attention on himself to teach his classmates to dance, including, but not limited to Juliet, Juliet, and Frodo. This is all fairly boring and the lessons you can take from it are few.

However, outside of this cliched fable, there is an extra character with the potential to Change Everything.

I will call him, Yellow Shirt Guy.

In the first classroom scene, Sunglass Man (Takashi Fujii) is standing in front of the class, singing. No one seems to hear this song, nor it's Tomoko Kawase-produced synthesizer music, with one exception. Yellow Shirt Guy, who is also in front, is paying full attention.

Yellow Shirt Guy is nice.

When they return to their seats, Takashi continues singing. His mind is on the Juliets, who are currently playing with Frodo's tie.

Yellow Shirt Guy ignores his surroundings and lifts weights.

Yellow Shirt Guy is focused.

Next, we see Takashi dancing with a wall.

Yellow Shirt Guy obviously has better things to do. We don't see him, but I think it can be assumed that he's working toward a cure for cancer in his garage or reading to the elderly or something.

At the start of the climactic Lunch Sequence, Yellow Shirt Guy is sitting alone. He is lifting weights again and now also drinking milk.

Yellow Shirt Guy is healthy.

This health will eventually assist him in Changing Everything.

He again demonstrates his gift of focus when he doesn't notice that Takashi has just fallen down and started teaching dance lessons.

While still recognizing the practical uselessness of the nearby activity, Yellow Shirt Guy joins to show his support for his newly-two-girlfriended friend and sympathy for his newly-no-girlfriended other friend.

Yellow Shirt Guy is a good person.

Yellow Shirt Guy is possibly Norwegian.

So, to recap, Yellow Shirt Guy is the perfect role model for all excessively old high school students.

Remember the following wisdomites:

Be nice.

Be focused.

Be healthy.

Be a good person.

Be possibly Norwegian.

Wear a yellow shirt.

The 21st Post

This is a big event. I was just outside with no coat or umbrella soon after drinking excessively bitter coffee and am now rather uncomfortable. I am telling you this only to justify my choice of topic today. No need to mail me raingear.

I don't actually plan to burn anyone and I recommend you don't either. However, if you really, really must burn someone, at least try to do it in a respectful way.

In the rest of this post, I planned to make up and record detailed instructions for doing this, but now, I feel a little better and my interest in people-burning is rapidly declining.

Maybe another day.

For now, enjoy this picture of fake possums.

The Wisdom of Jpop PVs: Part I

Watching lots of Japanese music videos is an excellent way to educate yourself in the ways of continued existence in life. They die for many reasons, but one of the main ones is failure to pay attention to the lessons of Jpop PVs.

From now on, whenever I feel like it, I will help you interpret these lessons, so that you may continue to exist.

Today's Lesson: Kirenai Kisetsu by Biyuuden

The message of the PV of Kirenai Kisetsu is that being rich and having a variety of comfortable chairs does not give you the right to make fun of trees.

As you see here, Biyuuden live in some sort of mansion or nice hotel full of chairs.

They enjoy resting in these chairs, but aren't completely happy while in them. I learned the answer to this question and consequently one that I had never asked: "Do I have multiple personalities?"

If today's traffic is consistant with a general trend, this blog has many readers and all of them are visiting from my computer, which is in a usually locked, single resident dorm room. This can only mean one thing. I am you. You wrote this. Scary, isn't it, self?

You didn't know it until now, but this is actually your blog and always has been. You made it. You then read it and wrote a reply to yourself. You and you may even have argued about your conflicting opinions. Maybe you should see a psychiatrist. Or maybe I should. Would you be ok with disappearing as a result?

Probably not, right? If I were me, I wouldn't want me to be treated either. So I'll let things continue as usual. You may download it here. I don't especially like the song so far, but it's by Namie Amuro, and Namie Amuro songs must be talked about. That's just how life is.

The English part of Violet Sauce, the chorus, includes the lyrics "Dip it in the sauce" repeated several times in many slight variations. Ms. Amuro leaves meaning of "it" open to interpretation. The meaning of "violet sauce" is also left mostly vague.

The easiest interpretation is that she enjoys an actual condiment made of violets and she is encouraging others to dip food in it and eat that food. Or maybe she has a slightly more selfish motive. Perhaps she owns the sauce making company and is using the song as advertisement. Still more possibilities are... possible.

The song was apparently written for the soundtrack for the Japanese release of Sin City. I saw this movie last weekend and highly recommend it. However, I don't remember seeing the color violet anywhere and definitely not in a sauce. There was much blood, which could be seen as a "sauce" by some (like the English), but in the film, all of it was colored white, black, or yellow; not violet. It may still have some other non-food meaning, I thought, so I looked up the song title in Urban Dictionary.

"Violet sauce" is seemingly not a slang term. However "Sauce" on its own has multiple such alternate meanings, several of which could be dipped into. These include liquor, semen, awesomeness, methamphetamine, and venereal disease among others. I can't think of any examples of these things that are also violet in color or taste, but I am not an expert. I'd consider Namie Amuro equally likely to sing about any of them. Still not sure what her point would be. I'll go with "violets are tasty."

There is a fan blowing in my face

It bothers my eyes a little, but it's not too bad. Hosting of blogs with Blogspot is free, so this addition wasn't really necessary, but I like text ads.
A site with no ads at all is perfectly nice, but text ads are a wonderful reminder that that site has no animated banner ads. Animated banner ads are probably fun to make, but once uploaded, they're essentially the purest possible expression of evil. I don't need to tell you this. It has been a well understood fact for about a decade. This is why I assume that you love text ads as well and are all-encompassingly thrilled to see them here at tBtwCE(E).
Supposedly, clicking on these ads will also give me money. Feel free to test this. Or just look at them and enjoy their beautiful and silent non-animatedness. Both will be equally effective in changing everything.

Why Kill Lounge Designers?

In my opinion, killing lounge designers is not very nice. It's also murder, which as well as being mean, is very illegal almost everywhere.

A group called capsule has written a song on just this subject, which I downloaded last night. I like this song, mostly because of the title. I can't understand the lyrics, not because they're in Japanese, but because they don't really sound like words. I think it may even be English, but I can't tell.

Back to the title, Lounge Designers Killer. What does that really mean? What kind of lounges are they talking about? What makes their designers so uniquely deserving of death? I know nothing about capsule, so maybe they're just bad people. Or maybe they know something we don't. What do you think?

Thursday

In the short life of tBtwCE(E), "Thursday" is by far the worst entry posted. The title, "Thursday," is the first problem. Naming a blog post after the current day is a completely unoriginal and boring thing to do. The author was clearly out of ideas and therefore shouldn't have written anything at all. It wasn't even technically Thursday when it was written. The posting was made at 12:04 AM on Friday, the morning AFTER a Thursday. Such sloppiness does a great disservice to readers who rely on tBtwCE(E) for up-to-date and accurate reporting on. as the entry continues, it only gets worse. for example, the subject of the reporting said to be up-to-date and accurate is never given. the sentence just ends. soon after that all capitalization stopss. this makes the organization of ideas even worse than. and than teh spellng gets gradally werse tilll eht wrds bcme almst unredbel nad punctaton n spcingcompltlystopaswlllihopenooneeverwrtssch
atrrblepstagin

The Best Song You Will Hear Within the Next Long (or Short) Time

Here is a reasonably good quality radio rip of Suki Sugite Baka Mitai by DEF. Not having exact change would never be a problen.

This doesn't even require the liquid to be kitten....

What would valuable enough though?

Some kind of liquid metal that isn't toxic.

I can't think of one.

A fictional civilization could have one.

They should still call it kitten.

I should put this in my blog.

Why?

No idea.

Today's post is almost blank.

Yes.

The First Entry

Welcome to my eventually-intended-to-be-good blog. This first entry will not change everything. I doubt more than a couple people will read it. Furthermore, the entry is almost completely about itself. Future posts will usually be about other things. The exact nature of those things will be revealed later, probably at the time those things are written about, but maybe earlier. You'll see. And I'll stop typing now.
